Jim is a Senior Advisor with Exequity, and is located in our Libertyville, Illinois office. Jim has significant experience as an advisor to compensation committees and boards of directors. He has more than 25 years of human capital consulting experience, having served as a leader within the executive compensation practice of a large, global consulting firm. Jim spends the vast majority of his consulting time focusing on executive compensation and other governance matters. Jim’s clients span a variety of industries, including a number of large and well-respected manufacturing, retail, and technology companies.
In addition to his role with Exequity, Jim is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. At Kellogg, he works in the Executive Education area, where his focus is on designing and teaching courses for senior executives and board members. Before joining Kellogg, Jim was with the University of Wisconsin–Madison, where he taught leadership and organization behavior classes in the Evening and Executive MBA program, and also taught executive education courses on strategy, leadership, and talent management. While at Wisconsin, he also held the positions of Associate Dean—Evening and Executive MBA, and President of the Center for Advanced Studies in Business. Jim has a unique perspective on the issues facing compensation committees, as he is a member of the Board of Directors, and the Chairman of the Compensation Committee, of Packaging Corporation of America, a producer of containerboard and corrugated products.
Jim received an M.B.A. in Finance and Industrial Relations from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, as well as a B.S. in Finance from Millikin University.
