Mark is a Senior Advisor with Exequity in our Walnut Creek, California office located in the Bay Area. Prior to joining Exequity, Mark was a Partner and West Region Practice Leader during his 24‑year career at a large, global consulting company. Mark has served as the lead executive compensation consultant to hundreds of public and private companies during the last 30 years.
Mark consults with boards of directors and management on all aspects of executive and non-employee director compensation programs, with special emphasis on total rewards strategy and its broader relationship to performance, leadership, and talent management. Mark has worked extensively with clients to develop value-based management compensation programs through variable pay and equity-based incentive designs. He is experienced in the development of peer groups, market analysis, and the design of nonqualified benefits, severance, and change-in-control arrangements. Mark also consults on technical issues related to tax, accounting, legal, SEC disclosure requirements, and governance developments.
Mark works with public, private, and non-profit companies in a wide range of business sectors, including retail, consumer products, technology (hardware, software), financial services, and manufacturing. Mark’s client experience ranges from pre-IPO and spin-off stage companies to Fortune 50 organizations.
Mark received both his B.A. and M.B.A. from the University of California at Berkeley.
